Was wondering if anyone has played with a cz 527 in 7.62 x39. I load a lot of cast rifle bullets, 45/70, .308, 358win, 444, Decided to try out the little cz. Got a Lee mold, .312 sizer and started to experiment. Tried a first load with a case full of H322. First shot at 50 yds. exactly where my jbullet load was sighted. 4more rounds went 3/8,center to center. Thought that had to be a fluke. Loaded 5 more rounds. Another group, this time1/4 inch! Next one was about 5/8. Backed off to my 100 meter target. One three shot group went 1 1/4 inch. What amazes me even more is that this is the FIRST cast load I've tried in this little gun. It had proven to be pretty accurate with jacketed. These results warrant more experimentation I'd think:-D

Oops, I guess I didn't say what it was! Anyway , they are a small action bolt gun with a set trigger that CZ makes. I believe they make them in .223, .204Ruger, 22 Hornet, .221 fireball and the 7.62x39. I have the Hornet as well as the 7.62x39, I was amazed at the accuracy with cast this first time with this little rifle. I've shot cast bullets for about 34 years and this is the best cast shooter I've played with so far, although I have a custom built .358 win. bolt gun that does real well, too. I haven't tried any cast in the Hornet, I'm not sure I want to get into casting .22s! (though I know some people like fooling with the little critters):)

softpoint, I have a 527, and what a lovely petite little thing it is, reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. Mine is a Hornet and it is very early days so far, so I'm not talking yet. A friend has a 527 Carbine in Russky Shortsky and it is very accurate with everything form the Lee "soupcan" to the Lyman 314299 200 gr.

I had a number of Hornets over the years, Ruger#3, Kimber, Ruger77, Inever had an accurate Hornet, I was told that the CZ or the Anschutz was the way to go. The Anchutz was a little pricey for me,so I finally traded my way into a CZ. And it IS a very accurate little gun. One of my friends has same in .204Ruger. Can't just look as his groups through spotting scope, have to stroll down to target stop with calipers!(can you tellI like CZ?!):-D

I have the varmint model in 223 and will always be with me. I am in NEED of a new Hornet and you guys have put any questions to rest for me, not that I had any to begin with. I have become a fast CZ fan.
