Traded a Norinco SKS for this one. I have already made a few posts asking about this rifle but haven't gotten around to showing any pictures. Well, here it is:

It is pretty easy to make a good rifle look excellent in photos with reflectors, exposure, and even photoshop. Nothing done to these other than resizing. Photo four shows what the left side really looks like. A fair amount of handling wear, but it is a 66 year old hunting rifle. The last photo shows the proud metal behind the trigger guard. Maybe it has been sanded a while ago....DanM

Thanks guys....I am looking forward to the load development process. Have several 30cal FP molds to try from 120-190grs. Have 200 cases on the way from Joe88 which will help a lot. Would like to find an old all steel Lyman 66 receiver sight that might look period correct and help me hit the target more often...DanM

Nice looking rifle there. I have several "waffle tops", but only one "A". Mine is a '48 model. I've not been able to work with mine as much as I would like but it's a good shooter as I'm sure yours will be too.
Hope you enjoy it!

Very nice, thanks for sharing it with us. Always wanted an SKS but it would take a pile of them to add up to your latest treasure, IMHO. A buddy of mine thought about "aging" a very nice old Lyman he's had lying around for awhile to put it on an old rifle, I think it looks just fine straight out of the box. Check out the Marble sights on the "peeps" thread, those blend nicely with the lines of a 336, IMHO.

This rifle is also a 1948, first year of production model. It actually has a Marbles rear sight mounted in the barrel dovetail, but I think I am gonna need a peep sight to do any good with it. Haven't shot it enough to be sure. Pietro, will need to join that forum and PM the seller about the sight. This is a great forum, thanks all....DanM

It probably was sanded, so that the lever could close all the way to disengage the trigger safety.
