Got the high Marksman award at the BPTR nationals , and then really hit the big time when I got lucky in the drawing and won the long range rifle so graciously donated by CPA, fitted with a 45-90 barrel furnished by Buffalo Arms, and Steve Balwin sights.
Feeling very fortunate.

Some close ups of the rifle would be nice to look at,the wood at a distance looks beautiful.CPA builds some fine rifles.

Awesome! I wish LynC2 and I could have made it up there to see the action. That's quite an accomplishment as well as some kind of good luck!

Yup! That is a very nice rifle! Don, It was fun to watch you win it. Some shock on your face - good shock:lol::mrgreen:.

Dave Gullo donated the barrel (Buffalo Arms) he was there shooting and stood up to talk about the rifle before the ticket was pulled from the hat. CPA Stevens was not there, and Steve Baldwin was there shooting too and took a nod for providing the first rate target sights on the prize rifle. CPA Stevens - Paul and Gail Shuttleworth provided the action, wood and of course built the rifle.

Don, it could not have gone to a better guy and I know it will be put to use. It is both a rifle and a memory.
Maybe you will be shooting it at Byers this fall?

Congratulations! Michael Rix

Thanks Michael.
I had a good visit with Gail at CPA yesterday. Found out this rifle has a 4* leed in it so it will shoot patched bullets just fine. I was going to get it all tuned up and ready to come down to your sillouette match and Erons Creedmoor in a couple of weeks, but I don't think I can get down on the stock far enough to shoot chickens. It has the high long range comb, so it's liable to just be a strictly long range gun. I had planned to shoot the entire nationals with it, but unless I change the front sights that probably won't happen.
At any rate have a batch of grease groove ammo loaded , and hope to get it on it's maiden run today.
