Swapping out a Remington Model 7600 pump and 7400 semi barrels

My Nephew took his Dad's Model 7400 in 30-06 out deer hunting a few years ago. Apparently he saw a deer and was going to take a shot. The barrel was full of snow/mud. It split like a banana and his is lucky he didn't get hurt. The action seems fine. I got a chance to pick up a 270 barrel for a model 7600 pump. Does anyone know it they are interchangeable?

Ok I think I found out my answer. The pump doesn't have a gas tube hole so it will not work - darn.
