Just back from a trip to the range with the Krag recently purchased on Gunbroker.

Primers: .3 cents
Gaschecks: 3 cents (actually zero because I got them in a trade here on Cast Boolits)
Powder: .4 cents
Alloy: 0 cents.

Pushing a 219 grain pill at 2000 fps for near minute of angle: priceless!

Funny, I watched this Krag go through 3 cycles on Gunbroker with nary a bid. my lovely, wonderful wife let me bid on it. Thanks Hon!

Sorry if some of you prowling Culver's already saw this but since it pertains to cast boolits I figured I'd post it here as well.

Just curious, was it a #314299 boolet you were using and probably an enriched 50/50 alloy? The powder you were using I have no guess on. Those pics show me a very nice looking Krag, good find!Robert

311284 by NOE (thank you very much) 60/40 alloy WW/LINO, if I remember correctly, sized .311 with Jeff Bartletts WC872 Powder, Winchester Large Rifle Primers's Aluminum gaschecks I got in trade of off this website. Boretrash with every shot and you know what? I don't care!

Next go-round I'll be leaving out the lino, may water quench but probably not and before I forget it: BAC lube by White Label (thanks again!).
