I have a close friend who does leather carving and we decided to team up on some holsters, I wanted to do this one as it was near and dear to my as I come from a long family tradition of Masonic involvement. We do have several other designs in the works but I wanted to show off this one a little before my first Lodge meeting!

I like it, but I think it would look better with the square and compass sized to fit entirely on the rounded portion. In other words shrink it about 25% or so. As long as you keep it nice and tight and deeply carved it should look great. I guess you found the light. :D

Brother . . . that's a mighty fine looking holster! I also make holsters/gun belts as a hobby and have made a few with the Masonic influence on them. My next one will be for myself for my new Uberti Bisley. I'd prefer the emblem smaller but you could do it to fit whatever a person wants. You might also consider adding the Lodge number if a person wanted it. The offerings are endless really - Past Master, Shrine, Eastern Star, etc.

That would really look slick with some faux ivories on it with a scrimshawed Blue Lodge emblem to match! Thanks for sharing - very impressive and something that would appeal to anyone who's traveled East! Job well done Brother!
