The Bond Arms are built like tanks...i love my 45/410 Snake Slayer...but...i have only found two boolits that will shoot accurately from it so far because of the .460" 410 area of the chamber. One is the 250 gr. win. lead rn as far as a factory round and the other is the lee .454" 298 gr. minie ball for muzzle loaders. The hollow base on this boolit will flare out and seal that part of the bore well. It shoots 3" and less at 25 yds. for me with the minnie ball and 6 gr. of unique.
I also painted the front and rear sights black so i could see them better.
It patterns buckshot well out to about 40 yds. also.
The trigger has to be "learned" on a derringer as it has to be pulled back and down at the same time....takes getting used too.
I'll never be without mine!

I love both of my Bonds!

Got rid of all of my American Derringers. They don't even come close.

Just a warning on the 45 Colt/410. I don't care how much John Wayne you have in you, after a few rounds, the fun has worn off. For plinking, downloads are much more fun.

I have the snake slayer. It's a fun gun to shoot but I've sent the grips in three times. They get hairline cracks on the top next to the frame after shooting 410. The first set cracked and I asked to upgrade to the Jumbo grip. They let me for $15.00. And I've cracked two sets of those. My daughter has the 357. "Cause it has pink grips". She is 4'11'' with tiny hands, shoots 38s mostly but 357 doesn't seem to bother her.

No! while a quality gun I didn't like mine. 45 colt bullets wanted to tumble and wobble and the 410 buckshot loads shot little tiny groups that would have been almost as easy to miss with as the 45 colt loads.
Mine went down the road.
If I had to keep it I wouldn't take one if the company gave one to me unless it had 45 colt only barrels. Or 45 Auto barrels.

Mine would tumble .454 cast bullets, shot jacketed ok. The short barrels didn't give enough FPS with the 410. So bird shot would bounce off plywood back at you. Trade mine yesterday for a Ruger LCR 38 SP.

I have the 3 1/2" version not a 4" and i have had bullets and boolits tumble. The .454" lee minie ball does not tumble in mine and the hollow base skirt stays in tact. It's the only boolit i have found to hand load for mine that doesn't wobble or tumble. I want to get a fully rifled 45 colt bbl. to go with it. So far i have not sized the lee boolit, but shoot it as it falls from the mould at .454 to .456" so that may make a difference.

That's what I'd do.

Yeah, me too! I know a fellow who carries one in a pocket 24/7. It's the 45/410 and feels like a lead weight and is slow to get into action. I can't see it for pocket carry over a .38 Special J frame Smith or even a small .380...

The extended grips are well worth the money if you are going to shoot much and not conceal, especially with high power ammo.
