I have searched and found old threads about the 450 but there was nothing conclusive. I would like to hear opinions, what has worked, what has not worked, etc.
The rifle will mostly be used for thumping deer out to about 100 yards.

Subscribed with interest. I'm considering an upper in 450 Bushmaster.

I tried some 200gr SWC's and mine. They cycled just fine, but accuracy was abysmal at 50 yards. I just got a 230gr RN mold and will try some of those through the rifle once I cast some. I don't have GCs available, so I will probably try powder coating the bullets.

Here is a picture of a PC SWC compared to the factory ammo:

run it as intended.
heavyish boolits at nominal velocity's.
it's a light handy 454 casull-45/70 in an ar platform don't try to detract from that.
shoot 300+ boolits with gas checks and whack the jebus out of things.
