Got a new mold today, WOW I'm happy!!!

Fed Ex came today and delivered my new RCBS 45-300 fn. I cleaned it, washed it in detergent, and smoked it. Put it on a hotplate and fired up the pot. My very first cast with the new mold dropped two PERFECT bullets, I poured about 100 and had NO rejects at all! They all weighed between 314 & 317 grains,and fell from the mold with just a light tap, and miked .4595, I couldn't be happier. Checked and lubed they weigh 324 grains. They are going into a Marlin Guide Gun 45-70 lubed with 50/50 moly - beeswax. I can't wait to try them this weekend. Best casting mold I have owned yet.

I've had very good results from my RCBS molds too, a few of them date to the RCBS buy out of Ohause in the 70s.

Of all the "commercial" manufacturers, RCBS is hands down my favorite. Properly pre-heated, all my RCBS molds (8) make perfect boolits from start to finish. Yeah only 2 cavity, but the quality sure is there.

I also have the 45-405 from RCBS that I had hollowed pointed by Buckshot, that mold is a pleasure to use also,( if the pin is hot) I was expecting a break-in period with the new one or having to do some "adjusting". Perfect bullets from the get-go. Yes their quality is the best.
