I have an Ideal 40043 that throws a 180gr bullet and I like the shape and design of it, but the particular gun needs a 165gr bullet.
Requirements other than weight are a nice, rounded ogive, preferably a round nose, but a flat meplat will work if the ogive has a generous radius. A truncated cone design simply will not work. The bullet needs to be capable of being loaded out to an OAL of at least 1.180. without the first driving band preventing the round from chambering.

So ... any ideas for me? I am open to all suggestions.
P.S. availability in a 4-cavity design would be a HUGE plus. Mould cost is not an object.

Try the NOE 402-160G-RN. Mine drops ~166 grains with WW allow. NOE has 4 & 5 cavity molds in-stock.

1845greyhounds, that looks good but I am worry about the max OAL they can be loaded to. What do you load yours to? I will be using these in a 2011 pistol in USPSA limited competition.

Why the 165gr requirement? Loading to major?
I run 200grn WFN in my Eagle, at 1.125, zero failures in about 4500 rounds this year. I've heard of this long loading in the 2011, just haven't found it necessary.

My Lyman 401043 drops at 168 gr and .403 dia. I use a COAL 1.130. Superb function and accuracy.

Lawboy, I load the NOE 402-160 to 1.13" to about 140 PF for IDPA.

I am shooting a 6-inch 2011, with an aluminum frame and lightened slide. 180s at major pf are too harsh and kill fast, accurate splits. 165s are sweet.
