I have a fair amount of brass for 7.62x39 and would like your reccommendations as to a decent 4-6 cavity mold,GC I'm sure, for my SKS and AK47.I know they're a bit smokey, but thats OK.
thanks for the advice!:drinks:

Lee C312-155-2R is as good as it gets for the 7.62x39. While it is normally only avalable as a two cavity, there have been group buys of six cavity special orders. The chances of prying one away from someone who got one of those is slim so your best chance is to see about getting up another group buy.

..............Leftoverdj is right about that boolit design. Plus it feeds as slick as snot onna doorknob. Another good slug (it works in my .300"x.308" 7.62x39 barrel) is the Lee C309-160-R if your barrel is a bit tight, like .310" or so.

You might also try the NEI version of that bullet the 311-155-GC #72. I have this mold and it does great work in the SKS too. And I believe it is available as a 4 cav.

Sadly, Lyman 311410 is iffie at best in SKS and Ak-47s. Those guns really need a GC, and the 311410 is either plain base or bevel base, depending on vintage. I have one of the older plain base moulds, and accuracy vanishes about the time I get functioning. A different rifle and a different loader might make it work, but I've given up on it.
