I'm one happy camper. Early this morning I traded some cash for a like new in box Marlin 444XLR. Now I'm thinking I may just part with my other 2/ea 444's which have the 1:38 twist. I've got both of the other two to shoot fairly well, but I'm really looking forward to developing some powerful loads with my MP-433-300HP. The 1:20 twist and Ballard bbl should both be assets.

My 94 BigBore has that 1:38 twist. I can use the 300 grain WFN but I prefer the 280 LFN. Your 1:20 twist will allow you to get some really heavy boolits stabilized. Congratulations on a great find. Send us some eye candy!!??

Sorry folks, no pictures. I'm not a camera buff nor a computer geek, and I hate to try and coax "her who matters" to do it for me since I'm not offering something for sale or trade. For those not familiar with the 444XLR, it is a stainless steel Marlin lever action rifle with a 1:20" twist,24" bbl and a composite stock. My understanding is that it was only offered by Marlin for a couple of years, so there aren't many out there. Does anyone know what years they were produced? Based on the serial number that starts with 94, mine is a 2006 year of mfr.
