I see that NOE has this bullet designed for hi tek coatings:HTC 225 60Gr. RN 3 cavity PB

It doesn't seem to have a gas check base, though. I will be powder coating with an ES spray gun for it and it would likely not coat the base of the bullets. Would this be a problem?

Sorry about the bold. Can't seem to get rid of it.

Hornady and Armscorp don't think you can melt the uncoated base of their bullets with full power rifle loadings.

Maybe you could put them on something so you get the wrap-around effect if that is really the ticket.
Do you think that is necessary or is that just the way the machine makes the bullet, so the bullet doesn't fall out of the jacket?

How were you going to coat some boolits that small using ESPC? Do you have some sort of jig made? I haven't found a good way to hold small boolits yet and am hoping somebody perfects that.
I can stand anything 9mm or larger on the nuts under the foil and get full coverage and even the wrap-around effect, but am not sure how you would stand the 225's.

Now that is a good question. I thought I saw a post somewhere of someone who used fender washers to hold them up. Maybe they were bigger bullets or I dreamed it! I will have to search for it.

I tried the fender washers for PCing 225's but only on a few-

Beagle and Banger have a history of using washers for rifle boolits but I haven't seen much specifically about these. Banger says "full 223 velocity" but probably with gas checks.

If I have it right the washer method assumes a GC shank, that's the part that goes into the washer. There are folks that PC them base up to get it coated but that's not the "do I need a GC" issue.

Well, I can certainly live with gas checks if that allows me to powder coat them.

I just powder coated twenty five 223 boolits to see if they would lead up the barrel. Cleaned the barrel before and shot all 25 then swabbed the barrel. I found Very little lead. Next time I'm going to shot a lot more and see what happens.
I was putting GC's on then PCing and was getting zero, leading. If I get about the same amount of lead after shooting 50-100 PC no GC boolits then I quite putting on GC's.
