The rear sight elevator tends to not stay put on my M92 in .454 Casull. I am now looking for a suitable replacement.

I had the exact same problem with my 92 in 44 mag. I have bought a marbles replacement with the extra wide elevator ramp. I have not installed it yet. Sorry that is all I know. You and I are not alone. I have talked to several who struggles with the same problem.

I think I might try filing a small depression across each flat/step with a chain saw file and see if that helps.

Use a flat jewelers file and just give it about 10* angle down should hold fine and not be near as obvious. cutting the front lower but maintaining the flat will much more pleasing to the eye.

My 45 caliber LSI R-92 had a rivited two piece rear sight, three if you count the elevator. It was a joke but till I found out it was a Joke I wasn't laughing. I installed an apperture sight from Steve's Gunz and never looked back. The longer sight radius made a huge difference for me. Hope you can get yours fixed. I truly like the R-92 and especially in the 45 caliber but oh how I covet the 454.

I have 3 M92's in .45 Colt and this one in .454 and the .454 out shoots the others by a wide margin at 50 and 100 yds.

I have a very small round (maybe an eighth inch) and run it across the elevator a few times and it seems to have fixed the problem.
