I think its time to wash behind my Mauser's ears. Anyone here know how to disassemble a K 98 bolt? I'm hoping a little education could save me alot of frustration.

Go to Surplusrifles.com, they have great disassembly instructions with photos.

Make sure the action is cocked, put the safety in the middle position, which makes the gun safe but allows the bolt to be operated. Remove the bolt from the action and the rear of the bolt (safety and cocking piece) can be unscrewed from the bolt body, the firing pin will be attached to the cocking piece. The rest is fairly self explainitory, hard for me to put in writing, but if you need further assistance just google "K98 bolt disassembly". That's how I refreshed my memory.

Hope this helps a little.
