5.0gr Unique will be very close to that FPS

I use 5-5.5 grains of Green Dot for similar velocities. Very clean and accurate in my Ruger #3.

if you have a faster powder than green dot [like red-dot] drop the load down to 4 grains.
about 9 grs of 2400 will get you there too.

Seems like I used 6.0 grains of Unique with the 44 grain lyman 225438, but the speed was faster than you are looking for.

Just back from the range, new rifle, scope & learning .223 loads.

Loaded Lyman 225415 (55 gr/ w gas check) with 5.5 grains of Promo (poor mans Red Dot), seemed a very consistant low power load (lowest in the Lyman manual), grouped in at about 2 inches... leaning against a post.

The problem I had is not related to the load... while the group was OK for semi offhand, the scope would not adjust...

I shoot a 46 gr boolit with 3.0 grain Bullseye Should be somewhere in your velocity requirement Just lube twice with LLA. Get about 1" at 50Yd groups but then again mine are GC boolits without the gas checks. I Bet a PB boolit would do better.
