Thought I would post a few photo's of the roller I brought back from the dead. Ha. I bought this action with no wood and no springs back in the 80's. It was bad enough along not to do a complete rework so I blued it and wrapped it up and stored it until this last Christmas season.

115905Lined the barrel. Made the stock and got a little carried away with the inlays but what the hey. Ha. The front snobble is S African Cabon heartwood Ebony. The reclaimed ivory on the sides of the forarm was off a 1902 Stainway Grand from the La. flood. Did not want to pay 100 bucks for a rear sight, so made one for it. Did not want to pay 100 bucks for an Orig butt plate so made one from brass stock. The dot inlays on the grip are also Ebony and the diamonds on the butt are rosewood. I did blue the butt screws after the photo by the way!! Ha. Ha. Hope you enjoy.

I like the way it looks. The sight looks good and functional.

John. I had some bits and pieces of some wood around and had been a while since IV done any inlays, so thought I would bone up a bit. Ha. It shoots great. Thanks for posting.

Wonderful. Love rollers. That said, after shooting 111 rabbits in the space of 3 hours with mine a few years back my thumb was red raw. LOL.

Any trick to relining the barrel? I have a #4 roller in .22 and relining it has been in the back of my mind.

Thanks Pworley1. I love taking something anyone else would throw away and see if I can turn it into something worth keeping around. My problem is, I have a list a mile long. Ha.

Jeff I can't even dream of shooting that many rabbits in that short of time span. I don't think there's that many on my intire mountain. Lol. Thanks for stopping in.

Roy.

725. Took me about an hour and that was including 15 mins of making sure my barrel was clean after drilling. Ha. Not difficult and can be done without a lathe. Drill halfway up the barrel and turn it around to Finnish the drilling. Loctite the liner in on these small ones. Never had one to move. if you buy your liner from Brownells, it comes with very good instructions.

Good job on that RB. That rear sight matches the one on my Uncle's (now mine) very close, would be hard to tell from an original.
How does it shoot? That is the question.

I used the threaded holes in the tang that are a Remington thread to mount a Pedersoli tang sight on mine. Had to use smaller machine screws and nuts to avoid modifying the gun. Had a very difficult time with the original sights.

Yes. Just lucky enough there was an orig out on E-Pay and had several views. He had a scale beside it on every photo so that was a big help. It shoots great. IV thought about putting a tang peep on mine. Thanks for posting.

Hooker, that's a beauty man. Nice work - the inlays are great. Rear sight looks real good too. You do some quality work.

I've got an English Sporting Rifle muzzle loader that I'm taking forever to finish. Wanna do it for me? :D

DL I might would talk to you about that ha. There's a narrow slot I do outside work and it runs from about the holidays to April. Before that it's winding down the Airshow season and after March/April it's getting ready for the next season. We have talked about limiting our shows next year so may have some extra time. Thanks for the complements DL and Hightime.

Hay, interested in another Rem rolling block? this is all there but the stocks need work or replacing. It shoots fine, just needs restoring.
