115846 115845

This came from an industrial valve machine. It's 5 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" thick and 31" long. I didn't have the opportunity to weigh it. It's very soft and easily scratched with a fingernail. Is there some kind of formula to calculate weight based on dimension? Oh, best of all it didn't cost me a penny! I gotta figure out how I'm gonna cut it. There's a piece of rebar down the middle and I'm not sure how long the rebar is, so that's gonna complicate cutting it up. Oh well, just wanted to post this. Couldn't be happier!

Thanks for the suggestions fellas. I just cut up an empty freon cyl. for a smelting pot. Haven't used it yet, but maybe I can rig up something to suspend it over the pot and take a weedburner to it. I'd love to hear from someone that could guestimate weight for me.

I never thought of it before but my father in law deals in used industrial machinery he told me he scrapped 2 machines with 1200lb lead counter weights in each one...I was like that'd have been a ton o bullets.

Told him next time to let me know before he sold it off to the scrap yard.

I don't even know how I'd handle that much lead but I'd figure it out.

I'd love to hear from someone that could guestimate weight for me.

About 230 pounds. 569 cubic inches at approximately .4 pounds per. A little over 8000 200 grain boolits.

Volume x Density.

I found 100 lbs of 30 year old wheel weights over the weekend sitting in my garage. I scored some lead too! 100% hard lead. The good old days.
