Where does the needle point on your LT225r thermometer(200-1000 degree) at room temperature? My stem rotated and moved the needle with it. Don't want to send it back right now as I'm ready to do some casting. There is a "F" on the bottom center of my dial, and it has a tiny 1 next to it. Is that the 100 mark?

Mine is between the f and 1 mark.

Thanks Waltherboy. Any others the same?

Same on mine. For a more precise frame of reference the needle lays between the "o" and "m" of "thermometer".

Did some casting today so checked mine. My PID read 645° F and my Tel Tru about 639°. After it was cooled down to room temperature of 60° F the needle was between the 2 A's in the AA2 mark above the Mfg.'s name. FWIW

My PID read 645° F and my Tel Tru about 639°.

That's a 6 deg difference between the two, less than 1%. I'd call that a match.

You need to boil some water...

Tel-Tru bimetals have a accuracy of +/- 2°F.
If you have larger variance - calibrate it ...
