Tomorrow I plan to go and zero it in. I sure do like the looks of it and after using a peep on my M16 for so many years it feels real familiar to me. Looking forward to testing it out. I have my 30.06 ready to hunt with using 2400 and a NOE 311165 but I sure wouldn't mind using my 30.30 again.

I got a Henry big boy a month ago and I went with the skinner sight. I really like it just getting mine sighted in. They look good too.

I put a Skinner brass front blade on my 1895 and matched it with Marble's barrel mount aperture leaf sight. First time I've ever had one of those and wasn't sure I'd like it, but I do. Was trying to figure out which aperture I wanted, the guy on the phone at Buffalo Arms talked the Marble sight up and it was <$20. Figured I'd give it a try. Great sight picture with the Skinner front blade and shot some real nice groups with that combo.

A few years ago, the owner of Skinner sights gave me one for my Winchester. It is a nice compact sight. I do find I don't shoot quite as good of group as the receiver sight I had on the rifle, most likely due to the longer sight plane I had. Still, a nice workable sight.

Which "Skinner" peep sight do you have on your Winchester 94AE - the rear bbl open sight replacement, or Andy's newer top-mount (that uses the rear scope mount holes) ?

Mine is the barrel mount rear replacement.

Goes on the rear using the two existing holes just like a standard apeture sight. It is not the sight that goes in the buckhorn sight slot. The standard front sight on my 30.30 did fine. I can't say it improved my group any at 100 yards. Kept tinkering with 3031, 2400 & Leveroution (think that's what it is called). Best group I came up with was 34gr of LVR. About a 4" group. This bullet is deadly in my Rem 700 30.06 but only so so in my 30.30 rifle. Still need to tinker I guess.

I have one of the regular Skinners w/ brass front post on my 1894C. I have a barrel mount w/ blued post on one of my Savage 99s. Just mounted an "Alaskan" w/ brass front post on my 336 today. I love their products. The 1894C and 336 both wear the extra aperture dovetail blank. I managed to lose one in the field already and don't wish to repeat it. Hopefully my Merit apertures arrive soon. I want some range time w/ them before hunting season. I love their products, especially "black gold" which is what I always order :)
