Ruger # 3

will a # 1 Ruger rifle stock fit a # 3 action?? I don't like that crescent Butt stock on my #3 250/3000 Odet custom. thanks. Tom/GD

i believe the action is exactly the same ... just that the number 3 has the old style lever while the number 1 has the newer locking lever ... other than this i really think the number 1 stock and the number 3 stock are interchangeable.

Yep, first I heard of it was a gun writer back in the 80's I think it was - called his the Ruger #2 - called up the factory asked for the plainest #1 stock they had and put it on his #3 then had the lever reforged to a shape he liked to go with it.

On my 375 bigbore #3 the stock is just cut straight and a recoil pad added.

The #1 buttstock will fit the action OK, but the #3 finger lever will need to bend a bit, since mose folks will have an issue fingering the curve for ops.
