I need some 180-210 gr. for testing in my .357 Max Encore barrel. Any suggestions on where to get them from? I'm looking for Keith GC and WFNGC/LFNGC designs so that they are suitable for harvesting deer. Thanks for the help! I don't pour my own...yet, so I'm looking for sources. I do have a little linotype that I could trade for bullets.

Selmerfan,

I have some Saeco #354 180 grain FPGC (300) ww/12% lino/Javelina lube. I would trade you for some linotype. Interested? PM me your Address if so.

I'm looking froward to using a lyman 358629 copy just obtained in a group buy here at cast boolits. If you ever take the plunge I think it would be your perfect answer. Keith type semi wadcutter, 217 grs (with my alloy), wide lube groove, with a gas check. Could be just the thing to get you into the pouring habit.

Selmerfan,
My typo -- 358627. One is on auction for the benifit of this site (real good way to support this place) Page 4 of "Swappin' & Sellin'". It is the group buy I alluded to. In the past, Lee had a so-so rep for quality. Somewhere along the line, they got it right and this is a very good mould. I bought two. Good deal / right time.

Thanks for the help. After doing lots of reading on this site, I may just end up slowly purchasing my own casting set-up and go from there. This looks like a fun and rewarding hobby!

If you can wait that long. The last I'd heard, they were backlogged a couple of months or so.

If you order anything hand made in the U.S.A don't expect to get it tommorow!

There are millions of pieces of **** made in china at Walmart available now.

YOU PICK!!!!

Don't complain when the US companies go out of business. I think it is great that the small companies that sell custom products have a reasonable backlog of orders. If they don't stay busy they go broke. If you think this is a problem maybe you should plan ahead. I am sorry if I sound harsh but I get tired of people complaining about the economy and politics and then bitch about a small american business like this that is doing well!

THINK! IT IS GOOD THEY ARE BUSY!!!!

Freakshow, thanks for the heavy bullet offer. After I slug my barrel I'll let you know what size it is and what I need, hopefully your .358" will work. If so, I'll take you up on the offer. I'll get back to you next week. I've read most of Fryxell's articles that pertain to my interests, excellent concise and informative articles!

The .358 sizer goes back and forth between .3580 and .3585.

His .357 Max article makes me want one, especially for the 215gr SWC. Here comes another Encore barrel.:-D

The most extensive collection of Glen's articles on the internet (that I'm aware of) are here; The Articles Of Glen E. Fryxell (http://www.lasc.us/ArticlesFryxell.htm) 41 articles so far and I add every one that I can get.

Did you know that Glen has written a cast bullet book? Last I talked with him about the book he said its written but he's still taking pictures and was looking for a publisher. I for one, am biting at the bit for this book. I've known about it for a couple of years now and the waiting is getting harder and harder.

Mt Baldy Bullets has a couple of heavy 35 cal boolits.
There's a 173 and 200gn SWC in the Revolver section.
240 and 280gn in the smokeless section just below that.
