I posted a couple of weeks ago about a mold for a 357max. I liked the RD 190grn from NOE. While I do not know much about molds it looks like this design does not hold all that much lube. Will that amount of lube be enough to push the bullet to a decent speed out of a rifle? thanks

Couldn't open the pic, if it's a TL design mould it will hold plenty of LLA. I've pushed mine to 2400+ in my 35 Whelen with no lube issues....accuracy issues, yes. Leading; no.

sorry I dont know how to post with my tablet. the mold is not the tumble lube one it is the SC359-190-RF RG2 GC one. I will try and get a pic of the drawing later but it is sayingit is .017cc volume of lube

there's lube and then there's lube.
i'm constantly amazed at how much lead and how little lube i can run down a 30" barrel and not have a problem.
the trick is to modify the viscosity of the lube to do the job at hand and not worry so much about another .0010 worth in a groove.

Exactly! Big lube grooves may be necessary for BP loads and BP lubes but I'm amazed at how little lube smokeless rifle and pistol applications need, especially when tumble lubing. When using conventional lubes I don't always use all the grooves available, but that's a topic well covered elsewhere. ;-)

Thanks for the info guys. I just went in on the NOE group buy for the 360-180 BPR mold. I figured since I was new to this the one with the large lube grove might be a little more forgiving to me until I figure this whole thing out. Since I decided on a mold I just have to figure out how to delete the posts. thanks again.
