Finally got some time in the workshop to finish a Martini project that I aquired in a trade! It came as a heavy barreled action chambered for 40/65 with some rather basic open sights.

First job was to mill that gross barrel rib to take a set of weaver bases

Next bend the lever to suit a pistol grip butt stock. I've bent Cadet levers before but this large frame lever was a real challenge because of the metal thickness.

The final job was to mount a 20X Lyman "All American" for some serious target shooting and commence the walnut stock making.

These Martini's are a real pleasure to play with and having done a couple, look forward to following along with this one. I am just starting on a restock of a cadet in K hornet.

I have another 'spare'action complete with bent lever and bushed firing pin in the block. Today I was offered a 26" chambered 303/22 barrel from a P14 and there is enough metal to rethread for yet another Martini rebuild!

I'm always amazed at the amount of parts out there that folks are willing to part with!

Martini action 303/22, yep I like that idea. Shave a few inches off the tube length, good scope and you have a fine work horse I reckon.

I built my BPCR .40-65 Martini on a Greener action using a Badger 1 in 14" twist barrel. This turned out really well and almost no "hammer-slap" like the Sharps or Remington rolling block rifles.

The Martini Action lends itself to some interesting Calibres. Here is one I built in 32.40 BP.

It has a takedown action, the barrel being released by the bottom lever and working to a stop when installed.
