Usually I am never in the right place at the right time, but in the last few weeks Iwas. Was checking the for sale board at a local shop and saw an add that said free lead. Called the guy and was told come and get it as no one else had called, turned out to be 4 ,5 gallon buckets of WW's already cast into ingots , 3 buckets of plain WW's and 200 lbs. of pure lead. My truck wasn't to happy but I was. Then last week a guy at work asked if I wanted some powder as he knew I reloaded ,of coarse I said yes now I have
6 cans of RX7
2 4lb cans of imr 4759
2 8lb & 2 1lb cans of imr 4198
1 keg of old win 630
1 partial keg of green dot
1 8lb & 3 1lb cans of 4064
7cans of old win 230
3 cans imr 4350
2 cans 4831SC
1 can imr 4320
1 can 4756
2 cans P5066
15lb keg & 5lb can of 2400

Now if I could only find some primers.

What's the matter, nobody could come up with 100,000 primers for you?

Wow, congratulations, you've sure got a nice stash there, have fun.

I have to start going to church as these things never happen to me . . . ranks right up there with the guy who finds a NM Garand at a garage sale for $50. :)

With that kind of luck I think I would buy a lottery ticket and see what happens:mrgreen:

The part of Murphy's Law that we're all familiar with is the famous "If anything can go wrong it will." The one I like best however is the one that goes something like "No amount of education, training and strategic planning ever succeeds as well as pure dumb luck."

Congratulations on your haul.

I did feel a little guilty when I saw how much powder it was, but I'm over it now.

Deals are out there.

last summer I missed a NM M1A at a garage sale by minutes, it went for $200.

I got there when teh sale was supposed to start and missed all the guns, they sold 1/2 hour earlier than was in the paper.

After all the gun fuss died down I clean out all the ammo, powder, bullets, shot, wads, presses, and dies. I averaged $1 a pound for powder, and $1 a bag for shot. 22's were 10 cents a box. Scored a case of WRA 7.62x51 for $25. After all was said and done my wallet was $200 lighter, and my car's underside dragged getting out of his driveway.

He had a bunch of trapping stuff left when I went, but I didn't know anything about it. Should have bought them, but I think I would have broke the car.
