I think they had a cancellation, got tired of me bugging them or just felt sorry for me but my Master Caster showed up on my doorstep. It looked like the UPS guy is going to file for workman's comp due to his hernia...this thing is really well built!

It was completely assembled with one of the molds installed. It was accompanied by some stick silicon lube, a bit of flux, roll pins and a couple of really nice punches. There's a some lead in the bottom of the pot so they actually tested it.

Any advice for a new owner?

Don't try to use it!! Send it immediately to me for my evaluation and setup. It will make a nice companion to my Ballisti-cast Mark IV

Don't ship ti to 6bg6ga, he'll just wear it out. Ship it to me instead. I'll use it much more gently and my Mk IV will keep it company so it won't be lonely.

Automate it.

Lay in a couple of tons of bullet lead, mold blocks for your favorite smoke poles, bullet lube and seizer, = have yourself a blast!!! These things will take a licking and keep on ticking. Iron Whittler

I asked first

I would install side shields on it. Basically you have that metal grate that is on the front (its removable), the open places on the sides will have stuff come out of it (sprues).

i would really look into automating the lead pour at least.
It wouldn't cost too much but it really speeds up the casting time by hand. You aren't having to look at the sprue when casting.

Its just takes 5 parts to do it.
Timing relay, Pot for adjustment, limit switch, air switch and air cylinder.

Also consider installing a PID controller on it.

The manual says to cast with the pot half-full....is that SOP?

I always thought that was simply to avoid the pot from overheating. A good rule of thumb, if you will. But I'm sure others will chime in

Yep. Using factory bolts to hold it on

I take it that the screen doesn't provide enough protection from flying sprue?

Not with mine I picked it up used and it didnt have a screen for the front so i've got to make one for it.

Keydet15, I would just call them and order a replacement screen. It shouldn't be too expensive.

AbitNutz, my master caster is automated. Without the side shields I get some sprues on the floor.
Even when I run it by hand it would spit a couple out every once and a while.

I used scrap pieces. I thought about making some for sale. Already drilled for mounting using factory bolts/nuts

A welcome addition; increases cleanliness, no fabrication, and adds value

when and if you are able to produce a set, I'd like one. Thank you

I saw vids of the Master Caster, have never seen one in real life.

But I realized, call me an idiot it Iīm wrong, that you canīt cast faster than with handheld molds, just more relaxed and so longer too, I suppose?!

Well, either way, I thought, that a vent above the outcoming mold would speed this thing up.
Cooling down the sprue, so that you can chop it off faster.

with a 6 cav lee mold you can cast way faster but then you also get tired faster too.

On the manual Master Caster you just pull you arm back and push it forward.
Then take your index finger to operate the lead drop.

I can cast manually a lot faster and a lot longer with the master caster then I can with any of my handcast molds.
Also not to mention the pot size on the master caster is much larger then most hand cast pots.

When casting 200gr+ booolits I keep the pot at 3/4-7/8 full so the temp shock of adding each new ingot is almost non-exsistant. My ingots run 3-4lbs each so they are a show stopper in 10lb pots, but I can drop one in about every 5 minutes and not notice a difference in casting consistency in the master caster.
