This is Calibros' Howda.
He cut the barrels off at 10" and used a new barrel from a Ruger No.1 in 458 win mag
to cut down and turn into barrel inserts.

He rebuilt the extractor to grab the 45-70 cases
and layed up fiberglass for the stock.

While testing loads at the range, he had both barrels light off at the same time under recoil!!.

He has adjusted the sear engagement to avoid a future occurance. calibros intends to take his Howda to Africa in June on Safari.

Sounds like too much fun for me.

Ya, Calibros is quite the guy. Here is his write up on the gun. http://www.calibros.com/pondoro.htm I'd like to build one in maybe 50-70 or 577 Snyder or similar.

I actually have that exact shotgun. I think I like it better as a 12 ga though...

Such an awesome, awesome gun.

As far as that last pic, that's why I teach newbs with doubles to light off the BACK trigger first!

Then when they get familiar, move to the front.
