Is anyone running the NOE copy of Ranch Dog's 265gr boolit in an 1894 Marlin with Ballard rifling? I'm thinking that this might be a good projectile for my recently purchased JM era 1894 (and my Ruger SBH) (and maybe both my S&W 629s). :)
If you are using this mold are you using the gas checked or plain based version?
Thanks in advance.

Gas checked sized to .432" over 16.5 grains of 2400 in starline brass.
I noticed a slight bulge if I went any higher than 17 grains in the 1894. I can go into the upper teens with my SBH.
Good luck
I forgot to mention lilgun. It is a good powder for pistol caliber carbines/rifles.

DJones,
Thanks! Is this boolit a good candidate for use in a revolver also or should I just plan on separate loads for each gun?

Yes it works in my 5.5" SBH. I harvested my first deer with my hand cast with this bullet over 17.5 grains of 2400 last November.

That's a great hunting report!
Looks like I'll be sending another $100 to NOE in the near future.
Thanks
:)
