How do you get .22 short and long cases, assuming you swage them? Do you buy them, collect them from scrap buckets, or even (gasp!) shoot them yourself and then use the cases?

I sweep them off the concrete after a rimfire league shoot.

Most 22 brass is worth something. Collect what you can.

22 long brass is the same length as LR. 22 Shorts make dandy 22 Hornet bullets. It's all good.

Ok. I was browsing ads for reloading supplies and saw a guy advertising sorted rimfire brass by the pound. If it's worth something I'll at least make him an offer on the .22 short cases. What would a good price be?

brass scrap price is usually around 3 dollars a pound. i have gladly paid 3 dollars a pound for empties. would even be willing to go a bit higher to not have to pick them up myself. i do not have the ability to sweep up after a rimfire competition so i have to collect mine from the state range which requires a lot of foraging.

I sold 11 5 gallon buckets of .22 brass last year to the scrap yard.

Used .22 cases are useless, possibly even dangerous (lead hazard, you know). Send them securely bagged to me in a reinforced box and I will safely dispose of them for you.

i cant believe you are willing to put yourself in harms way for so cheap. i think there should be a disposal fee discussed.:bigsmyl2:

If anyone has a surplus of 22 rf brass I would like to trade some boolits or lube for a quantity of them. I don't find them just lying about any more.

Package arrived yesterday, thank you ever so much!!!!
You have not asked for anything in return but I feel I owe you something. My thanks and gratitude seems insufficient.
