Need some assistance. Took my pot apart late last night (3 am-ish) and I unplugged the thermostat and forgot which plug went where. I can't seem to find a single picture on here or the web of where the plug coming from the plug-in should go. (From now on I will take a pic before removing wires)

If looking at it from this view I think the cord from the plug-in should go on the top side of the thermostat and the plug to the coil should go on the bottom side of the thermostat.

Simple. Everything is in series.......

One wire of line cord............to t-stat........into coil........out of coil......to other side of line cord.

That should be the way it is hooked up. I have never had mine apart as it has never needed it.

But is a very simple 120 v heater circuit. I do not think they switch BOTH sides of the 120. That certainly would be the safe way to do it, but adds to the cost of the t-stat.

The only other concern is polarity. One side of the power cord should be marked with striations or some other marking. That wire goes to the coil, while the other feeds the thermostat. Other internal wire goes between the T-stat and the coil.

Well, I guess what I should have asked was, is the closest hookup to the knob of the thermostat the line in or line out. As you can see, one hookup is closer to the knob/top side and one is further from the knob/bottom side.

So the power/gold connector should go on the hookup closest to the knob/top side and the silver connector should go on the hookup further from the knob/bottom side? (Sorry to make it so confusing)

As Banger said, power comes in to the thermostat, from there to one side of the heating coil, other side of coil back to the other power connection. In this case it won't really matter which of the connections from the power cable goes to the thermostat first because it's such a simple circuit.

Awesome, thanks guys. I knew I was over thinking it. Thanks for the pic Vinne.
