Will powder coating a hollow point cast bullet still allow it to expand when it hits game ( deer & Bear)? thinking of trying my hand at some for my 45-70 ( marlin guide gun) these will be gas checked. if youve got actual results and or testing, please share them with me along with advice. thanks a bunch fellers!

No experience needed. Simple answer is yes. Copper hollow points expand. If anything, depending on alloy, they may over-expand after the heat treating of PC curing. If worried, water drop after baking.

Thanks Jupiter7. i wonder if its possible to cast it fairly soft and then once its checked, coated, and baked. if the softer alloy would be hard enough that it wont slump with a hefty load?

Treat it just like regular cast boolits. Match the hardness you want to the velocity you want.
