Groo here
I am looking at coating boolets and would like to know:
Which system works best with HP and what would work with medium speed rifle [ 300 blk, 30-30, 45-70 etc]?

I load all of my as cast HP boolits nose down on a plate made with "un popped" pop rivets in an aluminum plate. Shoot them with ESPC, cook, size, load and shoot.

Using the BBDT method, depending on width of the HP, BB's will get stuck in the HP's. A royal pain. And no they are not a poor mans version of corbon's powerball. The BB's will melt and stink during the bake/cure process. Smaller HP's work fine.

BB's are made out of steel? Did you mean Air Soft BB's?

plastic airsoft ones are used because of the static build up they have when swirled with the #5 containers.

^^^ yep, that's what I was referring to. Tumbling soft lead with steel BB's seems like a recipe for ugly boolits.

You don't need no stinking BBs to powder coat bullets. :) Just drop in plastic tub and swirl, but I think the HPs should probably be sprayed in most cases, most guys are doing what ipijohn is suggesting or something similar.
