Tried SAAMI, not immediately apparent where the 357/44 B&D chamber dimensions are.

Any leads?

I think the Bain & Davis is still classified as a wildcat, so I really doubt that SAMMI would have the chamber dimensions.

Maybe try a reamer maker? Or I remember reading somewhere that B&D were still in business a few years ago; surprised me, I thought they had closed a long time ago.

From the Catridges of the World. case length 1.28" Rim diameter .515" neck diameter .383" shoulder diameter .454" base diameter .455" cartridge length 1.55".
Might try Reamer Rentals and see if they list the dimensions online.

Bain and Davis are still in business. They recently moved. Block they were in was sold and they had to move. If anyone needs their new address let me know. I need an excuse to visit their new store.

Out of curiosity I'd like to see the cartridge dimensions too, so if anyone is able to dig up a drawing, could you post it here please?

Interesting cartridge, it's a shame the neck isn't longer.

Ohland -

You can see a print of the case specs, via internet search on stevespages8d

FWIW -

Since they have the same base diam, .35 Rem brass can be formed into ( in-essence ) a " .357 B & D rimless ".
I trial formed some, and also verified that they could be held in-place by a .45ACP " moon clip " ( for an "N"-frame use ).

if you know somebody that is handy with a lathe you can make one with a 35 whelen take off barrel. cut whelen chamber down to 1.6" and put it into a stub for handi rifle. then add a rim cut. then cut 35 whelen dies down to match. that is how a friend made mine.

Ka-ching! Do note there is no datum distance to measure head space, nor a listed diameter. BUT... it looks to have .160 of neck, .386 neck diameter... 386-358= 28, minus .009*2=.018, extra neck dia from this sheet is .010, or .005 on a side. Probably could try a .359 or .360 H&I.

Cartridge and chamber specs are confusing. Must be me.
