Put lee's customer service to the test. See what they will offer.....

I have a lee pot.... dont use it much anymore. prefer to cast out of a 10 qt cast iron dutch oven and a ladle. I can cast a whole lot more this way.

A new thermostat and/or heating coil is probably all you need.
Heater coil : http://leeprecision.com/heat-120v-stand-20lb.html $13
thermostat: http://leeprecision.com/thermostat-110v-20lb.html $5
New complete pot: https://fsreloading.com/lee-precision-pro-4-20lb-90947.html $58
New RCBS ProMelt: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1458209097/rcbs-pro-melt-furnace $385
Get the parts and invest some of your time and fix it for $18. Or if you don't think you can handle disassembly and replacing parts get a new pot from Lee for $58.
Given all that, My preference would be getting the RCBS ProMelt. They have a tendancy to last 30 years or more.

If either of you guys wants to get rid of that Lee 4/20 pot just send it my way.
I am looking to find one to experiment on and make upgrades to.
Looking to upgrade the valve and handle mechanism to be more like the RCBS
The Lee pot is SUPER SIMPLE to take apart and replace parts.

Another vote on rebuilding. If I can do it you can.

If your pot is more than 2 years old, then you could also send for the updated valve rod assembly. I would call Lee and talk to them about what parts you need for that.

Or send it back and get a new one for half of list......At least that's what they say. I'd just get the parts myself. Sorry, NO WAY would I spend over $300 for ANY lead melting pot. Ain't worth nearly that much. It only melts lead. Doesn't fill cut sprue and dump out does it?

It was most likely just the thermostat that was defective. That's the cheapest easiest fix to start with. If that wasn't the problem, then get the heating coil.
