Hello fellow cast bullet shooters and casters.
I have 3 military rifles (mausers) .
#1 Moroccan FN built .308 carbine.
#2 Yugo M48 8X57 98k short rifle. .323
#3 93 spanish 7X57.
I am using Lyman's 311291 in the .308 rifle, If i do my part it will group into
2" at 100 yrds using a 2X scope.
I would like to find a bullet of this design for the 8mm and 7mm. I believe the
311291 is what is known as a bore riding nose design.
I have tried non bore riding nose design in .22-250 , .243, 30-o6 with no
accuracy success, (group is more of shot gun pattern than a group.)
On one of these threads a replier mentioned sizing the nose of bullet to
bore size , how successfull is this procedure??
My bullet metal is 1/3 rd linotype and 2/3rd wheel weights.
any thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
I sure enjoy this site.
a lot of knowledgable posters
thanks
Ted Kelley
