I've been experimenting with my new H&R 35 Whelen using IMR 4320 and having pretty good luck. I am interested in what powders others with this caliber favor or have had the best luck with themselves. You don't have to list your loads just the powder and the bullet weight so I can narrow down some choices and save a little money.

My experience with the 35 Whelen goes back almost 15 years. I started with powders having mid-range burning rates, but when I "discovered" Varget I had found my go-to powder for many of my hunting rifle rounds. Try Varget and I'll bet you can find a load that gives excellent accuracy and power for any bullet reasonably weight-matched to your cartridge. -Ed

Imr 4350 has worked very well for me recently with both 200 and 280 gr. boolits. Had to play with seating depth on the 280 gr. a bit to get it under 2" @ 100 yd. Now it's just over an inch and right with the 200 gr. in accuracy. I've used 3031 and h4895 with good success with the 200 gr. boolits for a bit of speed. 4759 has shot great with a filler around 1800 fps. with the 200 gr.
Best accuracy with 4350 has been around 2200 fps so far. Also at around 1950 to 2000 fps. I started with 48 gr. 4350 with the 280 gr. and 50 gr. 4350 with the 200 gr. boolit and worked up from there.

Reloader 15 and 225 Nosler & Hornady bullets produced top velocity and accuracy in my .35 Whelen.
