Hunting season is coming up. I use my homemade BP for hunting so I make it this time of year. Squirrel season opens in a couple weeks and ML deer season a little over 2 months off. I use my HM in a trade gun for the squirrels with the fines as prime. A Hawken fills the roll for ML deer and a 40-65 Roller for regular gun season.
Just something special about making your own powder and putting meat on the table with it.:bigsmyl2:

They don't seem to be able to tell the difference between mine and the commercial BP.

You mean they're not less dead when you use your powder.:bigsmyl2:

I want to make my own but I don't have time for another project. I do good to get to the shooting range.

Your picture looks like you have 2 different powders. One gray on the left, and the other is darker.

I have 2 different batches of charcoal to test this time. One made with Fly's Black Willow CC and one made with Tree of Heaven CC. In a very limited test last year I was getting 50fps more speed from the Tree of Heaven CC but the group wasn't near as good. I have enough this time to run some more comprehensive tests and see how it goes. I have no shortage of these trees at the farm and they grow nearly as fast as Royal Paulownia.
