Loose mold to handle fit

I have a pair of lyman mold handles and a 429421 2 cav mould. My question is, should the mold be a sloppy loose fit to the handles or are they left loose to allow the allignment pins on the mold to take care of mold allignment?

All molds have a little play when the are on the handles,like you figured to take care of mold alignment.They should close right away nice and snug when you close the handles.If they have to much play put a small washer on the pin that should eliminate some of the play. But they have to have a little play.
