So there I was casting a few ingots... I don't recall exactly what alloy I was using, but would you believe that one of them turned out like this!

Seriously though, I made this special ingot for a friend. I also had a little help from my good buddy "Krylon". (The color is Gold Leaf)

This paper weight turned out be a big hit with her.

Three of mine. L-R... 1) 50/50 range scrap/WW, 2) range scrap & a little plumbers solder, 3) WW
First two were from a cheap muffin tin, the other a borrowed Lyman.

113957Alloy is 37%+ Tin. These came from a radiator manufacturing plant. Each whole ingot weighs approximately 50#. These were analyzed, but the data was lost in a hard drive crash.:( No zinc!

My quickie ingots. I ladle lead in to a 4 ft long piece of 3"x3" angle iron, then dump out the ingots right when they solidify. Most of the ingots break into shorter pieces, but even the long ones are easy enough to feed into the pot. I can pour 75 lbs of ingots in less than 10 minutes.

It's been over a year since I did some smelting. I finally got to heat up the ingot molds Beone sent me ...I was suppose to beta-test them last summer, sadly I let him down :(
