got 900 of these still sealed up just wondering how old they were and if there was any collector value or if I should just use them. The artwork looked pre 70's to me? Sorry the pic is bright

i believe winchester primers 115 are from appox 1949 to late 1950,s. these are large rifle i had several boxes up to a few years ago, i purchased @ a gun show for 15.00 per thousand. They all were ok to shoot. with the primer shortage . i would hold on to them.
to me they were no problem

I believe they are pre-war. Western Cartridge bought out Winchester in 1931 and i believe the post war production wore the Western name until the 1950's. That color and style printing was from the early 1930's

60's and 70's......Sierra isn't that old to begin with

Speer started out as Vernon Speer. Only the big names like Remington, Winchester, Western, UMC, etc have been around since before the war. Most of the smaller companies started production post war

the primers are about mid to late 50s. If they are in a wood tray. bullets are 60s to 70s
seems the 115 was a small rifle?

I got some old Winchester primers years ago that turned out to be corrosive. Got them from a guy I traded guns with, that didn't do any shooting. Cost me a good barrel. I don't remember the packaging looked like yours. Yours are probably non corrosive, but I thought I would pass it along.

The artwork and colors on Winchester primers followed the colors and artwork found on Winchester ammunition boxes. The blue and white scheme dates from as early as 1928 and continued in use until 1937 or 1938, when a new design of a red and yellow background with a blue border came into use. "Staynless" priming was first mentioned in the 1929 catalogs, and labels bore this designation from 1928 through 1932. Beginning in 1932 the labels were changed to also read "Non-Mercuric" in addition to "Staynless".

All that having been said, your Winchester Repeating Arms Co. No.115 Staynless primers date from between 1932 and 1937 or 38.

I'd guess they are from the 50's, maybe early 60's, since they don't have the Santa Fe Springs address. Sierra started in 1947, IIRC. I had one of their really early boxes, instead of "Manufactured by Sierra Manufacturing Co." on the box, it had "Manufactured by Harris Machine Co." Wish I would have hung on to it, but it got trashed in one of my 'every-few-years' cleanup of the loading room.

Staynless and Non-Mecurric refer to the point that they are NON_CORROSIVE. Dates, I have no info on.

I had several of the old Hollywood Gun Shop boxes but they're not worth anything unless you sell them. ;) they're definitely not 1950's
