I have the opportunity to buy a Winchester AE 94 in 7-30 waters (and make my own cases from 38-55 or 30-30). But I'm not finding a correct booit mold for it. I shoot lever action silhouette and generally use a 30-30 with 170gr for all targets - I suppose I'd do similar with the 7-30. Can anyone suggest a mold/maker that has a 140gr to 170gr boolit for the lever gun?

Thanks,
M

should get close to 140 when cast.

+1 with HS40. You might have to seat it deeper than it was intended to stay below COAL max. I haven't really wrung mine out with this boolit yet, but my savage 99 in 284 win loves it.

There's a 336 with a custom 7-30 Waters at the Ft Worth Cabelas. Maybe your local Cabelas can have it shipped in so you can look it over. Seems to be very good workmanship.

I know about the one at Cabelas. I shoot Lever Action Silhouette and I'm pretty sure rebarreled rifles are not allowed - we can reline them, rebore them, but not change barrels. I think the idea is to keep the sport from being an 'equipment race'. But, I've been tempted.

If I had the opportunity to buy an original 7-30 AE, I sure would try make it happen. I always thought the Lee soupcan mold I got from midsouth was for 7-30 lever guns. It sure is a nice looking flat nose 135 grain boolit!

Sorry, just trying to find it a good home. Really is a sweet rifle.
