Howdy Folks,
Newbie here. Great site. Gotta question for any welders out there. Broke my lever on my Rossi "92 replica. Broke right in front of the finger loop. My question is, can these be welded. Don't know if it is a cast type or solid metal. Looks cast to me, but just don't know. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks, Wishbone

You might look around this sight. Bob has no lever listed but he may have them available/or could make one.

this is another good read on the 92rossi

I just got a LSI 92 in 480 ruger..

A few questions since I've heard of a lot of things breaking on them but never a lever.

How did you manage to break the lever off?

How many shots fired through it?
What caliber?

Does the gun chamber well/do you like the gun? aside from it's currant status.

Is it a pre-safety or does it have the safety?

I would mig weld if it were mine. May take a lot of grinding, reweld, and finish work, but it could be done.

Man these 92 reps are starting to scare me.

Try Steve's guns for a replacement, probably be less than welding.

If he doesn't have one I can weld the old one using a tig torch, mig would be a little overkill.

Yea sho nuff if I had a tig, I would use that but I don't so it's more of a hillbilly approach, or what I we like to call "Mountain Engineering"..

Thanks for all the great replies. To answer a few questions. The 92 was converted from a 44-40 to a 38-40 via relining the barrel... Broke while doing Cowboy Action Shooting.:Fire: Never had a problem with the gun other than that. I found a new lever, but I thought I'd still check on the welding to keep it as a backup... My son works at a bigrig shop with a few different types of welders. I forgot where he worked almost. I'll see what he can do and post a followup. It may happen to someone else.. I must be REAL strong...
Thanks again, Wishbone

I replaced my large loop lever with a standard on my rossi 92. About $50 from

They don't answer the phone but my email was answered the same day. Do you need a large loop lever? Just happen to have one...

Do you still have the large loop lever for the 92 Rossi? Is it the John Wayne or the Rifleman style? How much?

I still have it ... somewhere. Looked in last place I saw it and I guess I moved it. I'll have to look around a bit. Didn't know there was a style.
I'll get back to you.
