I rub lithi-bee on my press ram when it gets dry. Maybe every 1000 strokes. I also use it to lube cases, bullets, slide rails on pistols, and squeaky door hinge.

Breakfree for critical areas, 30W on non-critical areas, and Lubriplate on areas that never see the light-of-day.

I use Machine Gunner's Lube on all the moving parts of all my presses. The stuff lasts forever!

I use Marvel Mystery Oil. It's a good lubricant but is also extremely high detergent. It keeps the ram and all joints/pivots lured and clean!

Mobile 1 or other name brand 5W30 Synthetic Motor Oil for "Oiling". Moly Disulfide Grease or "disk brake wheel bearing grease", in a cartridge grease gun, for "Greasing". "Lee Liquid Alox" for "long term storage". (A little goes a long way.)

Whatever oil or grease you use: Stay away from any CLP type product. These will penetrate to greased areas and break down the grease.

Interesting. I haven't set up my LnL AP yet. Big red says I have to do an initial clean and lube with Hornady One-Shot Dry Lube. I've been planning to be a good boy, and pick some up. Problem is, I always PLAN to be a good boy...

After reading this stuff, I'm wondering about just dunking it in my waste oil. Too much?

What ever lube is handy at the time. Spray gun lube, motor oil, gov't surplus CLP , Castrol Motorcycle Fork Oil, the last time I had put Marvel Mystery Oil in a spray bottle and lubed both presses and my Lyman 450 lube/sizer. That stuff works well. Have no idea what it's supposed to be used for but it does presses OK.

Marvel Mystery Oil is a "marvelous" product. I've bee using it for 40 years. It is extremely high detergent. For oil changes, I substitute one quart of oil with one quart of MMO. I also add it to the gas - 1/2 ounce per gallon of fuel. Keeps injectors clean & open.

In the oil, it is such a high detergent that my oldest Honda has 135,000 miles on it. Remove the oil cap and shine a light, and there's not so much as even a film on the metal surfaces - looks brand new in there.

Someone older than me once told me that with regular use of MMO, the body of the car would rust away before the engine quit. I also use MMO in the lawn mower.

During WW II, MMO was used in war plane and war ship engines......

I quit buying fancy snake oils and gimmicks a few years ago.
Mobile 1 synthetic and/or Lucas Red and Tacky can be found on everything I own with exception to my molds. I got a few bottle of Bullplate a while back and it'll last me the rest of my life.
