For some reason I have wanted one of these for a long time. Does anyone know of one for sale or has anyone had any experience with one? Seems like cast bullets would be fun!!!

They did have these in SS in the Encore last fall, a seasonal run I think. Enjoy!

I've been shooting the RCBS 30-165 out of 10" TC barrel with good accuracy. A rifle barrel should be real interesting.

I have been interested in one for the TC for some time also. I tried to get info on the twist to see if it is slower than the 10" barreled twist. I never could get an answer. I would prefer a 16" twist as I've no desire to shoot cast bullets heavier than 120 gr as I have a 30-30 carbine barrel for heavier bullets. Please post if anyone finds out what twist the TC carbine .30 carbine barrel is.

They show it to be 1-10 which is the same as the later 10".

Take a look at www.edstc.com. Good prices, and a great guy to deal with. I was going to buy a 30 Carbine bbl. but thought why not buy a 30/30 and down load it. I'm not the least bit sorry I did. ALOT more versatile.

Looks like that's what Ill have to do as a 10" twist is way to fast for my use.

Anyone know a good TC barrel maker?

Heard about some guy who uses this process to make TC barrels. He gets a junker or undesirable barrel cheap, cuts it off at about the 4 inch mark. He then bores it out and threads it, gets a pulled Remington barrel for cheap, chambers it and threads it to fit into the short threaded TC barrel. Cheaper than buying custom barrels.

Those were reffered to as stubbed barrels, Vern Juenke of Reno NV. in the early days of IHMSA silhouette made some of the most accurate TC's around. He cut his off just ahead of the barrel lug, and screwed in a match barrel. He chambered them in some of his own wildcats, one of them I think was the 300VJ. They beat up on a lot of custom XP's

Great info, thanks. I thought I would only get negative comments. I have a couple of GI Carbines. I load for them and thought a contender cast gun would be fun.

I also found them at the TC custom shop. don't know yet what I'll buy. I'mthinking an 18 inch if I can find one
