For those that use it; What kind of accuracy should I expect with the Lee C309-113-F soup can boolit out of a Micro Groove Marlin 336 30-30
Is it on par with the Lee 90 Grain SWC or would you say it shoots better?

I like the 90 SWC for ultra light loads but I'm not impressed with the accuracy. I get far better accuracy with my Ranch Dog 75 Grain (.32 cal auto boolits sized .311 with the same small powder charges 2.5 g BE to 3.0 g BE.... light loading).

Still looking for that light load that I can trust out to 75 yds and be ultra economical. I was hoping that the 113Gr soup can may fill the gap between my the 75 & 90 gr and my Ranch Dog 165 Grain.
Thanks

My 30-30 is a Savage 219 single shot and absolutely loves the soup can. I size to .312" to fit my throat and load it on top of 8 gr. of Herco. This load is around 1400 fps and tends to be a very accurate load. It will generally hold less than 2" @ 100 yds and when I hold that little rifle just right it will do close to an inch for 5 shot. Very cheap and fun to shoot.

I'm tuning into this thread. I just cast, lubed, sized (.311) and gas checked about 400 of these little buggers.
I'm still looking for the perfect charge to use with this bullet.
I've already had good luck out to 50 yards with 6 grains of Red Dot in my 336 30-30. It doesn't quite hold to 100 yards. More testing to be done......

Well I'm figuring 75 yard tops but that's fine with me. If it would come close to 2"-2 1/2" at 50 yd (w/Receiver sights) I think I would get one. Sometimes I can get close with the 90 SWC's but I find them unpredictable ....(maybe it's just my loading of them?)

So what size groups are you seeing with the 6 grs Red Dot?

Brother Darrell and I are in concordance on this one--mine are sized .310, though--and that 8 grain Herco load shoots very well. My M-94 with me shooting it will group around 2 inches with a receiver sight at 50 yards, about a third better than I can do with a plain base boolit at that distance, though I do not have the Lee 90 grainer mold. I used that load for Chickens for several years while shooting Lever-Action Silhouette. It was absolutely satisfactory.
