My first 9.3x62 mauser build and the the no-go gauge test failed. The barrel is new and I thought chambered short. I can't seem to find a 9.3x62 field gauge, but my measurements indicate I have about .004" past the no-go gauge. Unless someone tells me I can get .004 crush when I torque it, I think I am through with this one.

Yes it will change when you torque it. you are at a very good point now , torque it before you change any thing else , I think you will find that you are where you want to be.

Have you faced action to true it ? If not this very light facing cut will change it also.

Ok, I checked the action is true. From what I understand, the recomended torque is an 1/8 turn. This calculates out to .010. So it should be dead on after torquing which would be great. I will let you know how it turns out.

If it fails and you are through with it, just send the barrel to me, and I will properly dispose of it.
