Someone was good enough to send me a scan of an article in Handloader Magazine (5 years ago) about shooting varmints with cast bullets.I have been trying to pull the reloading data chart out of the article, think I got it now. I'll try to post it here; if it doesn't come up good here, I can post it on the internet and send you a link to it.

Thanks Scrounger. I just cast a few batches of .22 and cleaned a .223 NEF and my 22-250 RemVS LH. to work with.
I am surprised to see how well the faster powders shot for them. The 7-8 gr Unique is about the only load I have used in .223. I tried a minimum load of 335(no notes with me) with very promising results. I am waiting on some gaschecks and mebbe a little warmer weather to work up a load. I have some chucks living on the side of RR in a woods where ranges would be 100 yds or less. This ought to be just the ticket. Jay

Scrounger,

that article didn't happen to have any 257 Roberts load data did it....?

that is exactly what I have been working on for a while with a HP'ed mould done by Buckshot a year or so ago.

any help would be appreciated, I have been looking to push 2500+ fps, or as close as I can get with accuracy being the bottom line.

No, it didn't. But don't give up. The .257 Roberts and 6MM Remington are the same case with different neck diameters. Ergo, the loading data for the 6MM Rem should be safe for loading the same bullet weights in the Roberts case. Actually, the chamber pressure would be slightly lower.

I found with .222 and 22-250 it was hard to find a load that would not shoot the 58 grain RCBS---this was both with and without gas check. I used Lyman data. My .223 is a Win Mod 70 and I tried all sorts of loads and none shot in it,but it is very accurate with 55 grain jacketed bullets.

tanstaffl10----I have an older Lyman Manual that has data for the .257 Roberts with Unique,2400 and IMR 4227. What weight bullet?
