I don't cast for .45ACP, and I don't have any SAECO moulds.
Back when SAECO was located in California, this Paul Jones guy had a joined-at-the-hip association with the company. That was in the days when (according to him) the company was producing 'high quality' stuff.

So, I watch his eBay sales, hoping he will someday put up a vintage 20 lb. SAECO pot.

For those of you who DO cast for the 1911, you might be interested in this mould.

Well when they start putting in buzz words like rare, vintage, mint or something simular I look the other way. Seems like they put them in to drive up the price. I have had some SAECO moulds and do still have one but I can't see as they were any better than H & G and maybe not as good.....JM2CW.......
I also had 3 SAECO melting pots at one time and got tired of repairing the doggoned things. So replaced them with RCBS and what a relief.....Wes

are you sure that saeco ever made a 20 pound pot to my knowledge they only made a 10 or 11 pounder, i bought one 30 some years ago and i have about 15 saeco moulds , the furnace died years ago , the thermostat went bad so i bought a rcbs furance, the moulds are all working fine, most of the moulds have at least 25,000 + bullets made on each mould i think the record is 63,000 for 1 mould and its still works as new. bob

He has been posting stuff for very high pricing for some time now. Never have bid on his stuff, can buy new cheaper. Saeco did make a 20 lb dipper pot(I have 2 of them) Saeco only made the 10 lb pot in bottom pour.

FYI, this is not the Paul Jones of Paul Jones Precision Bullet Moulds.

I've got two SAECO 20 pounders and one RCBS Pro melt. I'm currently using one of the SAECOs because my RCBS has developed a drip that I've been unable to stop. The SAECO is quite old , but works beautifully.

I have several Saeco 4 cavity molds. The are evenly split between Redding-Saeco and early Saeco molds. The only difference between them is the price. I gave $40 for the pre-Redding molds (handles included) and $122 for the Redding-Saeco blocks. Ugly price or not, they are still my go to molds when I want to cast in volume.

I have a 20# Saeco pot also. I use it to smelt my wheelweights and do my brewing of batches with it.
'
I then use it to feed my LEE 10# bottom pour.

The Saeco was old 25 years ago when I got it for $25...and it was full of lead!

So I have ne regrets with this one!

The old SAECO 10lb. pots, like the Lymans, were made by the American Furnace Co., and except for the power cord and printing on the dial plate, are identical.
