well it looks like you need a dump truck to haul it off and it needs to be mutilated at some point.

but there is more than just ww's there.
I seen some lead sheeting, lead bricks, an isotope core lid or two, battery cable ends and one or two others.
so it's about a 50-50 mix of brand new ww's and pure lead.
I'd take a stab at it, but I can't imagine the fuel bill to go get it.

Good luck. I had my eye on some gov liquidation lead down in Homestead, FL once. I had the plan all worked out, had feelers out to rent a truck large enough to haul it all, then start boxing it up and selling it from there, enough to share the love a good bit until the point where I had broken even and had a good stash for myself.

The bids were outside the range I was willing to pay within the first few minutes of bidding.

Wow! that's a s.it load of boolits there! Wish i had the funds for that. No telling what the closing bid will be though.

13,000 pounds of lead?! Holy crapola... At 200ish grains per boolit we're talking nearly half a million of the little buggers.

Mutilation on site..... Does that mean that I need to bring my fish fryer and start smelting right there??? :bigsmyl2:

It looks like the sheeting is still attached to plywood. New WW are most likely steel. How much of the total weight will be scrap other than lead?

Maybe and maybe not, I have about 7 gallons of brand new lead wheel weights that were given to me. The shop had them in stock when the state banned the use of them. perhaps the army honored some state law?

Exactly right, maybe and maybe not. And the thick ply wood is still there and what else?

Hmmm, Hooks is about 1,000 miles round trip from KC. My truck gets about 9mpg loaded and has a 16,000 GCVWR. The trailer is only rated for 1,700 pounds, nope that won't work. Anyone in this area have a heavy duty trailer? Interest in a group buy??

Hopper and "dunnage" is included in the weight. Current bid is $1,070 so subtracting the hopper and plywood from the weight and it's already probably over $1 a pound. Not much of a deal. But dang those are some big WW's.

Have to allow DOD to witness mutilation, pretty sure the DOD would not want to hang out for as long as it would take my fish fryer to mutilate that into ingots. :-)

With they way this administration is trying to force the Green path down everyone's throat, I wouldn't be surprised if they were forced to get rid of the lead WW.
