......of you teachers and enablers here, especially Smoke 4320.

Here's my first attempt :

110540110542

I chose to start with the Lee 200 gr SWC cuz it drops at .454, then 2 coats of paint brings them to .460 for the 45-70. The final step is to run them partway up in the resizer, so they might come down to .459 or so.

Sorta the same process as I use when paper-patching the same boolit, but much quicker and less tedious.

Hopefully, range report tomorrow.

nice job. I'm a little confused with the 'part way through the resizer'. I only use a lee one and assume you have a different one that gives a different effect if you do not send it all the way through?

I have the RCBS Cowboy dies, and I put the sizer/deprimer back on the press after taking out the decapping pin. I don't screw it down much cuz I don't want to get the loaded round stuck. I just want it to go in till snug to get rid of the expanded case mouth and maybe give the bullet a little squeeze.

Just how much can be added to increase bullet diameter? Could a .311 but be layered to say .321?

Originally I learned here to expect about .002 per coat. These started at .454, then two coats brought them up to .460 which makes it about .003 per coat.

The process is so quick and simple, I'd say give it a try. It's a great way to feed more than one caliber from the same mold. In my case, 45ACP/45-70, in your case maybe 30-30/32 Win Spec.

Might try it myself for my friend's 32 Win Spec!

You are correct. I need to feed a 32 Win Spec martini Cadet and cannot afford to buy a lightweight 8mm mould. I already have a few light weight 30cal moulds so I will see what happens.
If you give it a try for your friends 32 win spec I would like to hear about your results.
